HOLON'S MOVER ONCE AGAIN AT THE CES IN LAS VEGAS
Two years ago, the mover from HOLON celebrated its premiere at the CES in Las Vegas. A lot has happened since then: the fully electric, autonomous minibus is well on its way to becoming a pio-neer of the mobility revolution. At CES 2025, it will be presented once again. This time at the booth of the provider for autonomous driving technology Mobileye.
Mobileye's self-driving system (Mobileye DriveTM) forms the heart of the mover and is one of the first commercially viable autonomous driving systems. It incorporates advanced EyeQ™ Systems-on-Chip (SoCs), as well as sensing, mapping, and driving policy technologies, making it a unique, full-stack autonomous driving system. It is designed to support the mover to detect obstacles, an-alyze traffic conditions and react appropriately to unexpected situations.
“This technology is a good example of the enormous potential of autonomous driving,” says Henning von Watzdorf, CEO of HOLON. “Together with Mobileye, we will be demonstrating at CES 2025 how we are using our combined expertise to fundamentally rethink mobility - towards a connected and sustainable future.”
In the next step, the vehicles will be equipped with Mobileye's self-driving system for further tests. Henning von Watzdorf continues: “We are very proud of the first drives of our prototypes. We are right on schedule and development is continuing at full speed”.
Development continues at full speed
Since its first presentation at CES 2023, HOLON has achieved significant milestones with the mover. Just one year later, in February 2024, the first major success followed: an investment agreement with TASARU Mobility Investments secured HOLON a three-digit million sum to strengthen the series development and industrialization of the mover.
The next milestone: in September 2024, the decision was made in favor of the production site in Florida, USA. A state-of-the-art plant is being built in Jacksonville, which will produce up to 5,000 autonomous shuttles per year in single-shift operation. These not only fulfill the requirements of the “Buy America Act”, but also create up to 150 new jobs locally.
The development of the vehicle itself is also progressing rapidly: the first prototypes have been successfully completing their test drives since November 2024 - a decisive step towards series production. The mover is currently being tested for performance and safety under all conditions. The focus here is on the robust design and high safety standards.
Mobility turnaround within reach
In 2025, the mover from HOLON will take to the roads in Germany in the first pilot projects to prove what it is capable of. The minibus with a capacity of up to 15 people and a top speed of 37 mph is not only impressive due to its autonomy. The mover is also fully electric and barrier-free.
As a flexible solution for scheduled or on-demand transport, the mover is intended to help relieve the burden on inner cities and reduce CO₂ emissions. The fully electric and autonomous technology thus promotes sustainable mobility and increases user-friendliness in local public transport. Henning von Watzdorf emphasizes: “I am convinced that our mover will play a key role in the transformation of public transport.”
